- Start with one low-stakes page you already check regularly.
- Review the source tabs and generated form answers before using them.
The internet has given us many sophisticated ways to waste an afternoon. Refreshing the same page to see whether something changed remains impressively durable.
Mozilla’s latest Smart Window update gives that chore a small alternative: describe an update with /watch, select up to five pages for a task, and choose daily or weekly checks. The browser needs to stay open. This is not an always-running remote lookout.
A useful job for all those open tabs
We would start with one ordinary check: whether a product you already planned to buy has reached your target price. Make the condition precise. “Tell me when this is under my budget” is more useful than “find me something good.”
The feature is in the desktop Smart Window beta, initially in English in the US and Canada. We have not tested how reliably it recognizes changes across different stores, so keep an eye on the results before depending on it.

The other helper fills in the blanks
On supported forms, Smart Window can suggest answers using tabs you select. Mozilla’s help page explains that you review those sources and suggestions before filling fields. The feature does not submit the form for you.
There is a distinction worth keeping: ordinary saved autofill data stays on your device, while selected source-page information for AI form filling is shared with Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite. Choosing another model for chat does not change that form-filling model.
Start with the boring task
A conference bio or a routine registration is a better first experiment than a consequential application. Check names, dates and any sentence that claims you did something. A smooth paragraph can still be wrong.
The promise here is modest and appealing: fewer repeated checks, less copying between tabs. Whether it saves time comes down to how much correction your particular task needs.
