- Available connections depend on your account, device, language and location.
A page full of app logos is impressive for about ten seconds. Then comes the more useful question: which irritating little job can this actually take off your hands?
Gemini’s new Customize area is a good place to ask it. In its October 13 release notes, Google describes a single place for app connections and reusable instructions, with more than 40 apps or services available to connect. The interface is rolling out across web, mobile and desktop for all user tiers. Most connections initially serve English-speaking users in the US; availability elsewhere varies.
That is an expanding directory, not a promise that every logo will be available on your phone.
Open the details before adding the app
On the web, open Customize, then Connectors. Each app’s page lists supported actions, limitations and example prompts. The selection varies by account and device.
This is the part worth slowing down for. A connection that can find a document may not do the editing you have in mind. Checking the actual action list is quicker than arguing with a chatbot that cannot perform the job.
You can also name a particular app with an @ mention. Connections can be managed or removed from the same settings area. For personal accounts, Google says Keep Activity affects availability too: with it off, connected apps are unavailable on the web and iOS, while Android retains a limited set of device and messaging tools.
Find the smallest task that matters
The September expansion included work tools such as Airtable and Linear, plus creative services including Adobe and Webflow. The range is broad. Your starting point can be narrow.
Our suggestion: pick one repeated bit of searching, gathering or formatting. Ask for a short result you can check against the source. If it takes three rounds of repair, you have learned something useful before reorganizing your routine around it.
A useful personal benchmark is straightforward: the task that used to interrupt your afternoon now gets done, correctly, with less fuss. Keep the connections that pass that test. A shorter directory can still be a useful one.
