An enormous game can be hardest to return to when you have one free evening. Do you resume the old project, relearn the menus, or spend the whole session remembering where you parked?
No Man’s Sky’s Forsaken update, version 7.10, offers a smaller starting point. In the October 28 developer post on Xbox Wire, Hello Games describes strange traders who exchange collected mementos for biomechanical corvette parts. The pitch is delightfully specific: go looking for unsettling things, then use them to make your spaceship unsettling too.
Pick one strange job
The official update notes describe collecting those mementos from places including derelict freighters and infested outposts. There are also courier contracts from space outposts, giving players packages to deliver between planets.
For a returning player, our suggestion is to pick one of those activities before logging in. A single delivery or a search for one ship part is an easier evening to plan than “catch up on everything.” That is a way to approach the update, not a claim that we have completed its missions.
Hello Games also lists a minimal HUD mode and seamless warping toward visible stars. The reduced interface is aimed at experienced players. If you are still reacquainting yourself with the game, keep useful navigation and hazard information visible until you know which cues you can do without.

The mobile download is the beginning
Forsaken’s announcement also introduces iOS support. The U.S. App Store listing lets you play the opening for free and lists a $19.99 one-time full-game unlock when checked. The free download does not unlock the whole game.
Compatibility clarification — October 30, 2026: The App Store listing gives two levels of guidance. Its compatibility panel says iOS/iPadOS 26 and A12 Bionic or later; the developer’s description additionally specifies 4GB RAM and 4GB of available storage, naming iPhone 11, iPad mini (6th generation), iPad Air (4th generation), iPad (10th generation), and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) or later models. The download is listed as 3.8GB. Do not use the chip floor alone as a promise that every listed older device meets the developer’s specifications. Check both sections on your exact device, try the free opening, and use your own country’s store for pricing. We have not verified purchases transferring from another platform, so do not assume a console copy unlocks the mobile edition.
Hello Games says it rebuilt the interface for touch and optimized the engine for mobile use. Those are developer statements. We have not measured battery drain, heat or frame rates on an iPhone or iPad.

Let the trial answer a boring question
Can you comfortably read the interface? Can you reach the controls without covering something you need to see? Does a short session fit the way you actually use that device?
Those questions matter more than the novelty of fitting a universe on a phone. Try the opening where you expect to play, then decide whether you want to spend money or return to another screen. Your next adventure can start with a modest goal.
